Apple will raise App Store prices in Brazil, Colombia, India, Indonesia, Russia, and South Africa Apple announced today that the App Store prices in Brazil, Colombia, India, Indonesia, Russia, and South Africa will be increased in the next days. Price changes affect the apps and in-app purchases available, but Apple doesn’t say if services like Apple Music and iCloud subscription will also have the price readjusted. The company briefly explains that prices have been readjusted in these countries due to the exchange rate of local currencies, as well as an increase in taxes. Apple warned developers of the incoming App Store pricing changes on  its developer website : When taxes or foreign exchange rates change, we sometimes need to update prices on the App Store. In the next few days, prices of apps and in-app purchases (excluding auto-renewable subscriptions) on the App Store will increase in Brazil, Colombia, India, Indonesia, Russia, and South Africa. The likely reason Apple stopped releasing new iPads in the spring

Image
The likely reason Apple stopped releasing new iPads in the spring For many years after the introduction of the  iPad , it was released like clockwork in the Spring. Since the K–12 buying season is also in the Spring, it was a perfect time for schools to make bulk purchases of the iPad. Now that Apple has shifted the iPad release schedule to the fall,  schools  are left buying devices that will be replaced by the time they’re in students’ hands. When schools evaluate purchase options, they want to get the absolute best device for the money so it can last a long time. When schools are buying technology that will be a year old by the time it’s in students’ hands, it does lower its life span just a bit. Schools generally purchase all of the new equipment for the upcoming school year in the Spring, so the IT staff can work to deploy it over the summer, and then it will be given to students when school starts up in August/September. Why isn’t Apple releasing iPads in the Spring...

FILE - In this Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, file  ASSOCIATED PRESS Perhaps if 2020 had been a year where nobody had heard of COVID-19 and the tech community had its release calendar following the normal pattern we would be discussing the relative merits of the approach to desk-bound ARM computing from Microsoft and Apple. APPLE IPAD AIR (2020) REVIEW: TAKE IT FROM THE PRO Despite the higher cost, this iPad is the one to get By juan viljoen   Oct 21, 2020, 9:00am EDT Photography by Vjeran Pavic I f If  you’re looking to get an iPad right now and can afford it, the new $599 iPad Air is the best tablet for most people. Apple has taken the design from the more expensive iPad Pro and brought it down to a more reasonable price point. It’s $100 more than it was last year, but in return this year’s iPad Air has a bigger, better screen and a faster (and very intriguing) processor. There are two basic ways a midrange device like the iPad Air usually gets made. Either it’s built up from the base model with key improvements (as happened with  last year’s iPad Air ) or it’s based on the premium, flagship version with some expensive parts stripped out or replaced. That’s this year’s iPad Air, and that switch means that it feels like a modern device instead of a throwback. It’s also one of the most ...
